Armstrong Student Combination Set

Description

The Louis Armstrong Jazz Award was inaugurated with the consent of his widow shortly after this great jazz artist died in 1971. It is intended to honor the outstanding jazz musician at each high school. Each year give the winner the Student Combination Set which includes the white marble desk piece (3″ x 3″ base, 3 1⁄4″ tall), pin (5⁄8″x1⁄2″), and certificate (8 1⁄2″x11″) with embossed gold seal.

To preserve the integrity of the Armstrong Award, schools are limited to one set of student awards per year or two in the event of a tie. Many schools honor additional students with the Woody Herman Jazz Award.
